Soft and Slightly Shabby... Girly and Definitely CECILY! ;)
About the before picture...
No, Cecily's room doesn't normally look quite this bad. ha! No really. We were moving a bookshelf to her closet and had not only unloaded the closet but the bookshelf as well. Yes, she has a tendency to let her little brothers decorate her walls. Cute? Well, in a way...but I decided it's not cute enough. As you can see, Cecily had WAY too much stuff and a lot of it has made it's way to the TRASH!

Now...onto better things.

Now don't you think her life will be more peaceful?
See the picture of her little sissy on her dresser?
She will actually be able to work on her desk.
My mom and dad bought this mirror for me on my 16th birthday. I'm thinking about painting it white, but man paint is getting REALLY OLD! I've been a painting maniac and I'm actually painting the boys room today - wild and crazy colors! (Stay tuned)
I finished her room when she was at a movie with her daddy and siblings (minus Harry who was home with me). She was pleased as punch when she saw the finished product!
Now I feel I must explain something... one lightbulb instead of four?
We refer to my husband as "light cop" or "light bulb man". He notices lights left on and always tells us how much money we could save if we turned them off. What's funny is he's not extremely frugal...not a bargain hunter...but there's just something about lights left on that turns him off! hee hee

Love it! My hubby is the same way. We can spend money on all kinds of stuff, but he gets mad over the lights being left on. Men! LOL
It looks great! I love the pics of the flowers against that color of the wall. The room seems more peaceful to me!
It looks great. I love the colors. The room looks so relaxing and peaceful.

Beautiful - as I knew it would be! :)
Looking forward to seeing the boys room.
Love it you did a awesome job. I know what you mean about lights being left on. Have been trying to teach our young gang about stuff like that. Have a great day !!!! :)

Her room makeover looks great! I was thinking of that commercial where the kids are running wild and the parents bought green paint because they heard it will make them peaceful. In the next clip after the room is painted, the kids are quietly reading in the room. LOL.
However, clutter to me makes me crazy. My mind has a hard time focusing. So, when things are more orderly, it's a relief. I hope she enjoys her new way of living and turn those lights off when you're not using them.
BTW, I really missed not participating this past Wednesday for Memory Lane. My niece is actually looking forward to my posts on our family. So, thank you for that.
Ok, so when Ashley sees this blog post, she will be begging me to repaint her room for the 3rd time. ((giggling))
That room looks beautiful! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the framing around your windows.
I am the "painter" in our house too, as a matter of fact I just got done repainting our back deck, pool deck, pool stairs with skidnot & some of the bottom trim in our kitchen.
HAPPY PAINTING!
i like it, good job.
YOU DID A GREAT JOB!
Any girl her age would love being in there!
Yes, she can not be peaceful in her room and at her desk - he he he!
Love and blessings you crazy painter!
Jill
I love it! I love the woodwork around the windows and how big it is! So cute!!
First, I have to say that this is the first time I have visited you blog. I linked to you from another blog (Debbie at Heart Choices) and I must say, I love it here!
Now, I have to add, the room makeover is beautiful! So precious!
Then I would add, I sent a link to your blog to a friend of mine. Just from reading a few posts and your "about me" I know she will love you!
Finally, I have added a link to your blog on mine, as I plan to visit quite often.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Oh wow! This is absolutely beautiful! You are welcome to come over to my house anytime! ;-) What a peaceful place to rest in.
Her room turned out great! It looks very pretty! I love the picture of her too :)
I love it! She is lucky to have such a giving Mother and wonderful decorator. and I missed your blog while I was away...can not wait to get caught up. :)
Looks great! All your redecorating, decluttering, and reorganizing makes me want to do the same! I've been dropping some hints to my husband about us painting the bedrooms (all of which are still the flat white color they were when we bought the house new in 2007), but I don't think I have him on board quite yet! :-) Looking forward to seeing your next finished project!
Reading your blog makes me wish I could know you personally. Thanks for writing....
Your bloggy friend,
Angela
What a wonderful job, it's so sweet and I love the dresser!
It looks gorgeous. You are inspiring me to get working on my painting projects. I'm still trying to "simplify my life" and get organized though. Tim says I need to organize first...then I can "get my paint on". (O.K....he didn't exactly say it that way. The last part was me!) Cicely's room looks amazing. I'm sure she's very excited. Great work, girl. Can't wait to see the boys' rooms.
Love to you...
I love the new girly room with the white painted furniture. It is making me consider talking my daughter out of her "native Indian" room.
The room is lovely and relaxing.
I'm looking forward to seeing the boys room!
What a beautiful room!! You really did an amazing job! I'll bet she will remember this forever. I remember coming home from school when I was 15 year old and my mom had bought me Martha Stewart bedding. My first grown up bedding. I have never forgotten.
Those are special moments. I hope you have a nice lazy Sunday :O)
How CUTE! Yes she will have much peace now that its clean! Let's see if she can keep it that way...I know when I was her age...well...we don't need to talk about that! lol ;)
I haven't been around in some time, I need to catch up with all by bloggin' friends. June 23rd and the month that followed was hard for me but I'm doing much, much better.
The room looks fantastic. Love the color of the paint. How cute that she had her brothers art work up. That's really sweet.
Lovely room!!
her room looks so peaceful and inviting. Great job!!!
