I Have a Brilliant Idea! (Getting to Know YOU!)

Okay, here's the deal. If you're here, you probably have a blog - although I know that some of you who visit me don't and you're JUST as special to me! :)

Well, most bloggers like to have friends. It's more fun to write when somebody is reading, right? Sometimes we stumble upon a blog and we say, "Where have you been all of my blogging life!" I do that sometimes too. So, here's what I'd like to do so that you can get some new visitors to check you out and you and the rest of us can find some new blogging chums that we will decide we can't live without.

1. Leave a comment telling me your main blog address and what your blog theme/style is - do you write about your family or do devotional type blogs or quirky fun topics - decorating, traveling, recipes, all of the above?

**Change - we won't do this anymore. 2. Then in the comment tell me 5 of your favorite blogs. You don’t have to tell me why you like them – we’ll go and find out ourselves!

2. Then, last but not least *Don't forget this step -Put the Getting to Know YOU button on your side-bar (more participants means more visitors for you!) *Optional: Create a blog post (or add to another blog post) telling your blogging friends you're participating in Getting to know YOU and tell them where to join in (which of course would be here!). The more people that participate, the more visitors you get!

**Every Monday AND Friday, I'll randomly feature a blogger! I'll link to YOU and tell about YOU and YOUR blog That way, you'll get more visitors! I won't tell you I'm coming (don't you love surprises!) - so keep your blog updated and interesting!

**A little secret** If you're a faithful commenter (on featured blogs), you'll have a better chance of being featured because I read ALL the comments on the featured blogs and I'll remember you better if I see you there often. :)

MONTHLY PRIZE!!! AND starting in July, I'll be hosting a monthly giveaway - EVERY TIME YOU COMMENT ON THE FEATURED BLOGS THROUGH THE MONTH, YOU'LL BE PUT INTO A DRAWING FOR A SURPRISE GIFT (or two) - Just a little bribery motivation for you to make the featured bloggers' surprise visit extra special. (*Make sure you comment on the most recent post of the blog so that I will be sure to see it - and say you're visiting from "Lynnette's Blog" or "Getting to know you" or something so I'll spot you as one of my chums - okay?)

Now, doesn't this sound like GREAT FUN! If it doesn’t make sense, I’ll be here to answer any questions okay? (lynnette(at)lynnettekraft.com)

My blog is devoted to my wild ride as a Mom to a special needs son.
My 3 year old, Eli, has Cerebral Palsy and is severely disabled.
I throw in a little random stuff once in a while, too. It started to keep my family in touch...and I've grown to have a few followers. It's so much fun! Thanks for this opportunity! I'd love for more people to know my beautiful son that God has trusted me to take care of while I'm on this earth.

I share recipes on my recipe blog that is located on the side bar of my blog, fun craft ideas, positive events that happen in our family, inspirational quotes, my journey through infertility, and some fun, quirky posts that are very girl friendly! :)

Oh my goodness....how do I describe what my blog is about?

I am a stay-at-home Mommy of 3 precious girls. I love to post pictures of them and brag on their accomplishments! I love to talk about God's plan, as I have seen His work in action in my life, through my own adoption story. And while I know that God's plan is perfect, I am a daughter who struggles with losing her Mom at a young age and trying to overcome her grief. I also talk alot about my journey in yearning to become a strong, Christian woman and to be all that God has created me to be. Blogging is my therapy and you all, my sweet friends, mean more to me than you will ever know!!

Hi there,
My blog just started this past December after the unexpected loss of our third child via late miscarriage. I needed an outlet and so began my journey of healing through writing. It also shares my journey to faith. The greatest lesson I learned through our loss was the way to GOD. Without this loss, I fear I may never have been where I am today. I also write about my two living children. How blessed I am to see their smiling faces each day and NO MOMENT however crazy is ever not treasured.

Thanks so much for doing this, Lynette. It's a great idea!
Our blog is about our family's journey and the daily sufficient grace God has blessed us with as He makes beauty from ashes in our lives...healing our grief and restoring our joy. We share about our Faith, Grace and Thomas who are in heaven and our two boys Timothy and James who are with us on this earth. We also share a great deal about Sufficient Grace Ministries, our ministry for parents who have lost a baby or child. This ministry also reaches out to all women...even those who have not lost a baby with articles that are relevant and meant to encourage today's Christian women. There are devotional posts, posts offering comfort and hope to the bereaved, family/memory posts and Sufficient Grace Ministry updates.

(ooops! Can you delete my previous one above?!?!?!)

My blog began after the death of my 16 year old son, and is our grieving and healing journey to finding joy in the morning. It's about our family, book reviews, and several meme's including one I moderate, called In Other Words, sharing on Christian quotes. I invite you to visit! :)

Here are my top favorite blogs:

1. First Ann @ A Holy Experience -
http://www.aholyexperience.com
She is always so encouraging and such a dear person. You will find she does not have a comment section - she wants the reward coming from God - not her readers!
http://www.aholyexperience.com

2. Sue @ How's Luke -
http://howsluke.blogspot.com
This is the very first blog I ever read - and Sue and I have become dear friends over the past 4+ years. We both went through tragedies, though different around the same time. Her little boy nearly drowned, and it's their story of recovery, and their new normal.

3. Pat @ Caregiving & Beyond -
http://caregivingandbeyond.blogspot.com
Pat is a personal friend, and I saw how she cared for her husband over many years as he was dying. She just began her blog and I would love for her to be recognized as we all can learn so much from her.

4. Heather @ Especially Heather -
http://especiallyheather.com/
When I think I have it tough - Heather reminds me with her honesty, faith and dark valley walks, that I can keep going. Heather is fighting cancer and she has a daughter who has had open heart surgery.

5. Amy @ Amy's Humble Musings -
http://humblemusings.com/about/
I met Amy when we were both blogging for ClubMom. She is a "real" person, and shares from her heart - the ups and downs along with the funnies and not-so-funnies. She's a mom of 6.

(I've got to stop here?!?!?!)

I have 2 blogs. One is Haas Family Blessings (http://haasfamilyblessings.blogspot.com), which I write about our family life. My other blog is Caring for Carleigh (http://carleighmckenna.blogspot.com). This blog journals my journey with our precious daughter, who has anencephaly. It talks about my feelings, events, and shares the generosity of others. I created it to help me remember and to help others who may be on the same journey as me or who have recently received some other fatal prenatal diagnosis. I want to show that there is hope when so many say there isn't.

Lynnette,
My blog is "mostly" about my life and my family. I hope to be transparent. I hope to be encouragement. I hope to be real...

But above all... I hope that "the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart are acceptable in Thy Sight, Oh Lord, my strength and my Redeemer."

I have this year added "Tuesdays Together in the Word". We are reading Scripture together (posted on my sidebar) and then linking together and posting a nugget from that week's devotions.

Also, my son is a soldier - and about to deploy AGAIN. Certainly, that will be a frequent topic on my posts.

My first four favorite blogs are from my family (I have all of them blogging now:)

http://halwarren.blogspot.com/

http://adventuresofjulia.blogspot.com/

http://knucklehead47.blogspot.com/

http://jendee783.blogspot.com/

And this is a good friend:

http://triciaschmidblog.blogspot.com/

Of course there are MANY more - so it was hard to list just five :)
Thank you for hosting this - it should be fun... and with all of the post that you have... You have your work cut out for you LOL
Sweet Blessings,
DeeDee
P.S. Since today is Tuesday ... my blog post will go up tomorrow :)

My blog currently shares a little of everything, photos, family, funnies. It is my personal blog and was started in an effort to share, encourage, and glorify God and his Word. Some recent and future topics would include deployments and infertility. I am also the mother of a one year old.

I am new to blogging, so to pick 5 faves is hard, as I am still in "Bloggy Euphoria" ....

And I don't know how to paste the button correctly (yet), but I will get someone to show me!:)

My blog is about the heart of the home the woman, wife, mother, etc. and what should be the center of her heart our Messiah and King Jesus Christ. It is a fairly new blog where I want to cover all issues about being a woman, from Biblical Submission, to cooking, sewing, and all the practical things of being a homemaker. I also want to cover child training, babywearing, and homeschooling. Most importantly I want to cover the woman's daily walk with our Messiah.

At this time most of my post are responses to two online Proverbs 31 bible studies.

I have a list of far more than 5 blogs on the left side of my blog. Since I can only list 5 here I will list the ones that are truly speaking to me at this time.

1. "Aspiring Homemaker" is written by a young woman named Mia who is the type of young woman I wish I had been way back then.
http://aspiring-homemaker.blogspot.com/

2. Is by a friend whom I met through the Radical Debt Elimination Yahoo group. Her blog "BIG FAMILY, SMALL INCOME, NO PROBLEM" is a journal of there families journey from debt to finical freedom.
http://www.bigfamilysmallincome.blogspot.com/

3. Is one of the blogs by Sunny Shell. I have found her post on "A Damsel No Longer in Distress" to be a true inspiration.
http://jesusrulzme.blogspot.com/

4. Sherry the mother of 14 at "Large Family Mothering" is the mother I want to be.
http://ladyofvirtue.blogspot.com/

5. For this last blog I will go with Sunny Shell's other blog "A Wife's Biblical Submission" This is a topic near and dear to my heart.

Hi Lynette, what a great idea........
We have a caringbridge site: www.caringbridge.org/visit/cripe
It mainly is about our daughter's journey who has developmental delays, apraxia, seizure disorder, and sensory integration disorder. It also has my journey of dealing with stage IV liver cancer with mets and the trials and tribulations of dealing with an illness and special needs child. It also is to give others some inspiration on other issues in our lives, like miscarriages and successful pregnancies/births, type I diabetes x 34yrs (my husband), lupus, and to let others know they are not alone. I guess you could state our site is a garden variety of life's journeys!

Lynnette,

I am a "late blogging bloomer!" I hesitate to do things like this because I am not always sure I am going to do this correctly. I am giving this a try.

My blog is simple, and defining of what a day in my life holds. I started my blog to journal memories for my children, but have found that I end up sharing my heart and my daily thoughts.
My blog also carries the hope of the Lord to those who have a burden they are carrying. I write about the loss of our babies, and God's incredible sustaining strength.

Unfortunately, my husband currently lives in the Carribean and cannot be with us right now. We are hoping he will be able to join us in the coming months.

What a good idea. My blog began as a way to keep family and friends updated on my husband and my journey through medical school (not me! him.). After 3 years of infertility, I decided to share it with those I loved. Until that point, no one even knew we had been trying. It has been amazing to experience the love and prayers of our readers as we travel through this journey. I still update readers on our life, but I also post things that God has shown me through our journey of infertility, work, etc.

My five favorite blogs are:

What a great idea! I began my blog, originally, as a way to keep my friends and family updated as my husband and I began our life together as he went through medical school. However, after three years of infertility, I decided to share it with my readers. Until this time, no one even knew we were trying. It was then that I introduced us as "Party of Two...praying for more." The love and prayers from my readers has been overwhelming. The blog world is such a great way to reach out to others!
